"Sadly the days of classic 2D animation are gone from the U.S. mainstream. Now we have no budgets, no production time, no studio facilities and no big team talents to call upon. Today all we can do is indie-based, best-shot 'penknife surgery' to save the patient - at least until corporate confidence returns to the art-form and we all dare dream of those old heady days of magical, hand-drawn animation again."

2DLIB started with a conversation between Tony White and J. Schuh at the 2013 CTN Animation Expo in Burbank, California. We hope it will continue to link together traditional hand-drawn animators around the world with pride and passion for being part the finest art-form of our current era. It is an art-form that must be allowed to always grow and evolve. Help us spread the word - as together we can further our mission to preserve, teach and evolve traditional 2D animation in this digital age.
